Professional Development Training

The Level I Medication Aide (LIMA) training course is designed to prepare the
student to safely and effectively pass medications to residents in a Residential
Care Facility (RCF) or Assisted Living Facility (ALF). The curriculum includes
state regulations, resident's rights, infection control, fundamental human body
systems, medical terminology, techniques of medication administration and
documentation. Students who successfully pass this course will receive a Level I
Medication Aide Certification through the Missouri Department of Health and
Senior Services and become active on the DHSS LIMA Registry. 

The Insulin training course prepares CMT’s and Level I
Medication Aides to safely administer insulin injections in
RCF’s and ALF’s. The curriculum includes procedures and
instruction in the following areas: diabetes treatment &
complications, types of insulins, techniques of insulin
administration and methods of monitoring blood sugar levels.
Students who successfully pass this course will receive an
Insulin Certificate that goes directly with their CMT or LIMA
certification.
